Botwood
Wednesday July 21, 2010It’s bird, it’s a plane… it’s a big, pink bus! Today, the Tour for the Cure landed in Botwood, home to the Flying Boat Museum. Our afternoon seemed to fly by as dozens of visitors soared in to receive life saving information. Pink was in the air; even the town’s deputy mayor, Scott, took off with brochures and posters for the townspeople. After going through the breast model table, one woman admitted that she “had never thought to check behind the nipple.” Armed with the Newfoundland Breast Screening phone number (1-800-414-3443) our visitors had no trouble getting their head out of the clouds.

Caitlin is happy to let Scott (Botwood’s deputy mayor) know that being breast aware can save your life.
These proud visitors found out about our stop in Botwood by looking on our website. They were also thrilled to take photographs to show family and friends that they stopped by.
